Speaking to Ian, a retired Manx Police Motor Officer and TT marshal with over 50 years of experience, is always entertaining. Ian has many stories about the TT, bikes, and a life well-lived. One night, while patrolling the Douglas promenade, Ian stopped to admire a Rob North race-prepared Triumph. After speaking for a while, the owner offered Ian a go on the Triumph. Mounting the bike, Ian took off down the prom, his white police helmet on his head. A colleague directing traffic enthusiastically waved the speeding Triumph through an intersection, urging his colleague on while an enthusiastic crowd clapped, happy to see a local police officer embracing the TT spirit!
